Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Your adventure starts as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). When you’re done with collecting your bags and getting through customs, a friendly driver will be there to take you to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule, you can organize an extra activity such as a city tour, visiting a coffee plantation, going for a bike ride, seeing Lake Duluti, or a half-day game viewing experience in Arusha National Park. Dinner is provided at the lodge, giving you the chance to relax in the large gardens and take a refreshing swim in the pool. Surrounded by lush greenery, you can even visit the nearby coffee estate to prepare for your early start tomorrow.
Accommodation: Legendary Lodge
Day 2-3: Explore the Tranquil Chem Chem Concession
Have breakfast at the hotel and meet your private driver. You’ll have a private vehicle for the next few days as you head into the captivating Chem Chem Concession within Tarangire. Get ready to take things slow and connect deeply with the wildlife and nature around you, stepping beyond the limits of a vehicle. The journey to the lodge takes about 2.5 hours, letting you settle in before going for the afternoon game activity. Work with your guide to plan your days at Chem Chem Lodge, surrounded by watering holes, savannah grasslands, and a vast salt pan. Here, the feeling of space is matched only by the privacy and elegance of your accommodations.
Accommodation: Chem Chem Lodge
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you’ll be met by our safari guide, who will be with you for the next few days. Drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a couple of hours of exciting game viewing and stop for a light picnic lunch. This park offers a wild experience across various habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. The shores of the lake, adorned with pink flamingos, attract over 400 bird species at different times of the year. Alongside the powerful predators, you might come across buffalo herds, Masai giraffes, and impalas along the lake shores and forested valley slopes. Leave the park and continue to the Ngorongoro Crater Rim, where your camp is waiting. Dinner at the camp is a great way to end the day. “Entamanu,” meaning ‘circle’ in Maa, the Maasai language, perfectly captures the essence of this luxurious camp perched on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater.
Accommodation: Entamanu Ngorongoro
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
Today starts early as you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, giving you a few hours for exceptional game viewing before the crowds arrive. The Ngorongoro Crater, often called Africa’s “eighth wonder of the world” and “Africa’s Eden,” is a stunning natural wonder. Created 2.5 million years ago after an extinct volcano collapsed in on itself, this caldera is the largest of its kind globally. Here, you’ll have a great chance to spot the Big Five and enjoy a packed picnic-style lunch before returning to camp.
Accommodation: Mwiba Lodge
Day 6-8: Southern Serengeti
Accommodation: Mwiba Lodge
Today, return to Manyara and bid farewell to your safari guide before catching a flight to the Mwiba Airstrip. Once there, you’ll be taken to the lodge in the Mwiba Wildlife Reserve, an exclusive area offering a personal safari experience. Your days will be filled with game viewing in the greater Serengeti ecosystem, and you can customize your activities with your guide. The area is particularly rewarding from January to March due to the presence of the Migrating Herds. Enjoy the lodge’s secluded, elegant setting, complete with an infinity-edge pool overlooking a rocky gorge and three springs teeming with wildlife.
